Had a rough night last night, couldn't sleep, tossed and turned all night. MAY have gotten 3 hours of sleep. Makes for a long 12 hour day.

Where I work we work 4 days, then 4 days off, then work 4 nights, 4 off, then back to days. 12 hour shifts from 5:00 to 5:00. I prefer to work nights only because I just can't get enough sleep by 3:30 am. Switching back to days is always the toughest because it always means working the first shift on zero sleep.

Congrats! Hopefully you can stay on days for an extended period of time.

I think this time it's for good. At least as long as we're here. We're opening a new consolidated 911 center in April, so no telling what happens then.

We work 0530-1730 or 1730-0530 here, non rotating shifts. We work 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on then 3 off, then repeat. Works out we have 7 days off every 2 weeks. Day shift is great, but nights you end up sleeping your first day off so you really only get one day at a time off except for your weekend off.

I don't mind the schedule, but I couldn't sleep during the day anymore.

I never minded getting up early in the morning, so 0430 wakeup doesn't bother me at all.

i would love to have to have a regular schedule that give you at least a whole week off. rotating schedules and having just the weekends never gives you enoun time to get anything done.

hoping i can get a gig that will be 2 on and 2 off or something like that. i'd rather do anything but 5 days a week and weekends off. funny but I can do 6 days a week with just one day off and be fine. 5 days a week and I'll be out of sync. and having a schedule where the time changes is the worst!
