i picked up a pflueger microlight reel on sale for $10. i think it will be good for a backpacker type fishing setup. nothing fancy but with a bobber and jigs or a small hook with whatever bugs may be around it should catch fish.

Something like this is useful in a tin kit or a small Survival kit. You can make a fuzz stic, gut a fish or small critter strike a firesteel or use it to gig/spear fish and small game.

You can use it as a small cutting tool if you like, that is one reason that I also keep a small handle
It can also be used for spearing fish, frogs or other small animals
It can be used like a razor or even a defensive spear thereby saving your knife
AND you can use it on an arrow if you fashion a bow

Here are my last 4 purchases
Not one of them cost me more than $20
[Linked Image from img.photobucket.com]

Svord peasant knife with wood handle
Svord mini peasant with plastic handle
Case slim line trapper
Rough Rider barlow

Now if the Yard were to make a folder I would be set

There is a bow store about 20 miles away that has no telling what in there. I could probably pick up something and jury rig up something. How do you carry the head so nothing gets cut?
