I tried to make some sausage out of the last one I killed, but it didn't turn out well. Not enough sage.

Last year this one guy gave us about 10 pounds of home made/smoked deer sausage. Man was that stuff good. He just hand shaped it and smoked it then rolled it up in tinfoil.

When I was stationed out in Idaho, you couldn't eat the rabbits in that area. There was so much sage brush around that they age it ruined the meat. They were mostly Jack rabbits too.

I know a lot of people shoot jack rabbits just for sport.

We don't have THAT many rabbits around here, but I bet I see 10-12 every morning just on my road as I come in to work.

They were classified as pests out there. I was stationed in Mountain Home Idaho (about 50 miles south east of Boise) in '80-'81.
