i'm looking forward to getting some rabbits this year but since squirrel season kicks in at the same time i may just grab a couple squirrels and see how I do with them in the kitchen. if I find that I enjoy squirrel a certain way then i can see hunting up a few every now and then. if it seems like too much a hassle or i don't particulally enjoy it then they will stay on the pest side..
even if i don't keep every rabbit I get I know my family members would appreciate somebody getting a few for them. the price on rabbit at the store was pretty crazy. i'm thinking $30 or so for a little box. i didnt even bother to look at the price per pound but with a price tag like that the only way I'll be eating rabbit is if get myself anyways.

i try my best not to think of the deer sausage because it just makes me anxious. i don't know what kind it was but we had some last year that i can still taste. when i do get a deer this year that's what that bad boy will become. i don't have a place to put a deep freezer but if i have to I'll figure something out.

Had some venison brats for lunch. Got this one ground up tonight. Once I find a bit of pork fat, I'll be making a batch of something....probably Italian, but might try some chorizo and/or jalepeno cheddar.
