When I received it from the first return they had milled off the metal causing the problem but never refinished it per request. So there was raw steel in the rear of the receiver. I shot ten rounds to function check. Went to put it in the safe and found the finish on the stock infront of the front sling swivel stud was turning yellow and chipping and peeling. Sent it back specifically asking the to call me before handling the rifle( note was on top of rifle) never called they just did want they wanted. They replaced the stock and reblued the gun(sloppy reblue job)Only contact I had was when ups said they were shipping it to me.

I just hate poor customer service I would just use the rifle and see how it functions
If it becomes an ugly but reliable gun, then you have a truck or quad gun

I think that's what I would do. My ugly guns are the only ones that get any real use anyway.

Yeah. I may just use it as a beater in till I can afford a quality semi auto. But I have a guy who offered me what I paid for it. So do I just be rid of it or do I keep it for a while longer.

I think I would take the offer if I wasn't 100% happy with it.

Yeah that's what I'm debating. I hate to be without but I can't seem to feel comfortable with it.

And to mount a normal scope it's going to be another 100+ for hardware to mount it.

It's not that much for mounts for that
My nephew's rifle has a Leopold vari-x 2 regular relief scope on it

I'm talking about how you do it without taking off the rear ghost ring

I came close to buying a GSR not long after they first came out, but I was talked out of it by the gun shop owner of all people. I bought an old Remington 788 Carbine to scratch that itch.
Since Mossberg chambered their MVP rifle in .308 I've been trying to figure out how to come up with the cash to get one. Might have to sell the 788. The only thing I would change on the Mossberg is the barrel length. Comes with a 16 1/2" barrel and a flash suppressor. I would prefer an 18" barrel and I don't need a fs on that rifle.
