The first two are screaming deals!!
I've been watching that Argy on Coonan for a few days and can't believe it's still there for $1100 shipped.
Those Argy kits from Sarco were pretty much unfired virgin kits.

So how hard is it to fit a folding stock to one?

'Nut, yes I am really suprised that one has not yet sold either..!!! Given the cost of a kit now..!!!

gun dog,

You will need a complete lower already fitted with the folding stock or have a lower (trigger mechanism housing or TMH is the correct term) mated to a folding stock. You will also require a new top cover (= body cover), new bolt carrier (correct term = breach block carrier) a set of return springs and to be done properly you will need the receiver (body is the correct term in fact) to be milled at the front (around teh hold through which the gas piston enters) to accept the front lip of the para specific top cover.

So it's easier to purchase a para rifle? What's the average cost difference?

Yes much easier to buy in the first instance, really how long is a piece of string mate, you can compare a kit built para to ($1K say) to an Amnesty List G Series or Poyer L1A1 ($5-8K plus) or vice versa. Apples to apples a para willbut a little more expensive HOWEVER, other than the cool factor - and a para has LOTS of that - what is the advantage to YOU ?? I LOVE para style rifle just for the "cool" but fixed stock rifles are much more practical !

Getting in and out of vehicles. Dense brush. Smaller to strap to a pack. That's kinda what I'm thinking... Maybe be flawed though.

I've handled FALs but have never been able to fire one so I don't have much experience to say yes or no to the stock.

Don't get me wrong mate, I think the para is as cool as all get out BUT as long as you know why you are spending the extra and the limitations of the design.

How difficult is it to add a quad rail to the front of a FAL?

DSA make a bolt on unit for them @$300. You really need to consider WHAT you want out of the rifle mate, if you are looking for a accurate and reliable battle rifle the FAL is really hard to beat, if you are looking for somelike an M4 on 'roids you really start to negate the things which make the FAL what it is and what makes it so popular with people who have carried such tools professionally. I guess you have to go back and look at just what you are trying to achieve.
