I really like the 311, both handle and blade wise.

Just make sure to slim & convex the edge to up the slicing capabilities.

The 311 is a great little blade, but I do however think, that the angle of the grind is a little too steep.
Do as others suggest, at reprofile it to a lower angle, and it is perfect.

I have a Custom Shop Rodent 3 with a thinned out full height flat grind, and it is an awesome little slicer. It works wood great ease.

For this size I prefer Rodent 3 or Swamp Warden with scales on (or off, depending where I'm going to...).
I'd say that maybe if 311 was FFG with a thinner edge I'd like it better.
As is, I have one that is my project knife... Just haven't managed to strip it yet. The plan included lots of sanding and a convex edge...

The 311 is my favorite. I find myself using it more that any other blade, because it's the one I'm always carrying. The full sized handle fits my mitts (XL) and the blade is perfect for precise, close in work. And I have no worries about breaking that little beast.
I like it so much that I even got a scout carry Rainwalker sheath for it.

Its about the same specs as a BM Griptilian 551. Someone had posted comparison pics of the two before but I forget the thread title, etc. If your google foo is good its on this site.

I love my Elmax that I got at Blade a couple years ago. One of my favorite knives.

Not sure which it is, I THINK it's the 340.
