Just spent my knife money on a Glock 19 (for the wife). Still at the dealer/gun smith waiting for night sights (XS Sight system tritium front/rear).
Started looking at AR-15 platforms.... Mastiff, isn't those the ones with the round "Ball" front sight and shallow V rear? If it is I really like that type sight on handguns. Had a set like that on my Ruger Redhawk back in '85.

Been looking at the Big Dot sights for my carry guns. My tritium is 20 years old in one.
Sounds like at least a few of you like the big dot.

I've never had one on any of my guns, but with my eyesight I sure like the idea of a big front sight.

I have a hard time lining up a square sided front sight in a square rear sight. BUT the "Ball" resting on the bottom of the rear V notch is easy for me.
And yeah, those are fast sights.

They are just easier. Sorta like a ghost ring that isn't fully enclosed. And by that I mean your eye wants to naturally "Center" the front sight.

I've never had one on any of my guns, but with my eyesight I sure like the idea of a big front sight. The Redhawk I had didn't come with that setup. It had the regular square front and rear. BUT it was not much more than Push in the spring holding in the front blade and doing pretty much the same for the rear and BINGO, Gold bead front sight and shallow V rear.

Well, we're off to the Lab. Got to get some blood work done to see how anemic I am now. Well anemic may not be the right choice of words, but to see how low my iron level is before I go back to the Derriere Doctor  again next week.
