I have always liked the FAL but this "I thought it was a simple yes/no question but it appears to be a FAL thing." is what has kept me away.

...what part are you talking about mate ?? When a rifle was used by @90 countries and manufactured in @10 plus now US new manufacture there are bound to be some differences.

I realize the fact that there where many countries using them but did every single one have to make it so nothing interchanges. (I am exaggerating a little) An AR10 may have different parts on it but they will all switch to another AR10 it my reasoning. Again I realize the FAL is a great system just not my favorite.

That is not really the case mate, the metric rifles (the most common) are all pretty much interchangeable as are all the inch rifles (the latter was a REQUIREMENT of production in Aus/Britain/Canada - why they are also known as ABC rifles). There is also some interchangeability between metric/ABC rifles. There are some exceptions of course and I don't deny that but pretty much all the bits between a Belgian/Austrian/Brazilian/South African/DSA rifle will interchange. The Argentinian and Israeli rifles can throw a couple of issues into the mix but they also are mostly interchangeable with the rest of the metric breed. Don't even ask about the Indian rifles.

You had to ask...!!!! wink India fielded the 1A it is the FAL variant that I am least familiar with, it was NOT licensed by FN and is a bit of a hodge podge of metric and inch features.

Second trip to the range with my latest Imbel build. It was raining like crazy but not enough to stop this old battle rifle from dinging the 15" steel gong at 200yds fourteen times in a row.
Kinda funny when people talk about accuracy and MOA and yada yada yada about a FAL. I can promise you I would hate to be a 15" midget at the other end of 200yds looking back on this Imbel.

Sorry for the crappy Iphone 5 vid. I was the only one at the range so i set it on the next bench and hit record.

SN, I've got the check made out for $400.00 Figured that 100 should cover the shipping and insurance. But you haven't sent me your address yet? You DID say $300.00, right? grin
