No and its better to wear it like you said because then the snaps would be under your belt and a bit more secure.

That's why I do it that way because I have hooked straps on a branch or rock ledge and unsnapped it.

Well your BK9 one was pretty early I had some snap troubles. If you need a new dangler I will send you one. I use USA made snaps now.
