I like the sage handle I don't have a mudder Not sure about the blade length Does 511 fit the same niche Do I get the 411 instead? Unfortunately, the feel of a knife is very subjective. The only positive way is to actually hold the knife and, if possible, use it. The 511 has a longer and thicker blade than a Mud Mutt. This could affect the usage of the blade. I have a few SYKCO knives in 4 and 5 inch sizes and they all feel different. I personally prefer the 411. But, as I said, it is a very subjective opinion.

From pictures I've seen online, it appears to be hidden ( not slabs), there doesn't appear to be an pins, etc. so, it's either epoxied then friction fit, or just friction fit. If you are going to try and save that handle, then ( depending on if there is epoxy) boil it to loosen it, then a vice and pull it off. It you aren't going to save it, then It could probably be cut off

Thanks Ray. I know what your saying, kind of like when someone as everyks me what kind of gun they should buy or that I like. I tell them the same thing you have to hold it in your hands to see how it feels and it's the same with golf clubs and most things.

Oh, it's hard , couldn't tell, looked like rubber, I don't think cutting it will be an easy option. If you have a belt sander, I'd sand it on the top of the handle until the tang is exposed, then try and knock it off.

That should work, unless there are holes in the tang, for the material to go through , then the only thing I could think to do would be sand down the side, until you hit metal

I tell them the same thing you have to hold it in your hands to see how it feels and it's the same with golf clubs and most things. I bought a Swamp Rat Ratmandu because everybody said that it was the perfect knife and the handle was the best and most comfortable. But, to me anyway, it was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever held. It is a good knife but not for me. The Mudder handles, on the other hand, are the best SYKCO for me. (And Regulator handles).

Thanks, I just pulled it out of the safe and it actually is a rubber type compound so it probably is pressed on. Since I found the yard blades and Res-C I don't mess with it much and didn't remember how it felt, I think I'll leave it like it is.

Ray you said it, it's all about feel I like my Ratmandu maybe just a little less than Res-C but still like it. I had one of the scrapper 5s when they were released but let it go after my 1st surgery, hence no mudders.
