Finally got a lead on the perfect scope of my CZ. It's a discontinued Vortex 2-7x32. Supposed to be some really good glass in this thing. If it works out I may try to find one for my SLR-101.

I guess once that's done I'll get a mount and stick the Burris 3-9x40 on my M1A. I didn't like the scout setup on this rifle. It could've worked but it just wasn't my thing. I will probably put the leatherwood on a mosin at a later date.

Earlier this year I sold all three if my Leupold Mk4 4.5-14 MilDot, three Trijicon TR24, one US Optics SN4, one Leupold VX3 1.75-6, and one Trijicon TA31 ACOG.

The Leupold's just weren't as clear as I wanted, the TR24s aren't strong enough to withstand SCAR17 recoil, and the USO was heavy and battery dependent.

I would recommend the ACOG and USO. I would like to try a NF, but have only looked thru some - haven't "used" one yet.

Are the scars rough on optics?

The Heavy is reputed to be.

Good to know. I was thinking about a leupold... Maybe vortex for the warranty would be a good choice.... Or just do it right and ACOG it

From what I have read, try a scope rated for full auto fire and or, believe it or not, an air rifle!

The air rifle comment is seemingly correct.

People claim the Scar has a "forward recoil impulse" similar to an air rifle. A $30 BB gun from WalMart will ruin a $1500 NF in short order.

Standard scopes are not built for forward g-forces.

Newer ACOGs are allegedly strong enough, but I've heard of at least one unsubstantiated claim where a Heavy broke a bottom end ACOG. I asked for proof, but none was proved and the claimant disappeared.

I wouldn't consider a traditional "hobby" scope on a Scar-17. I would only consider:

- US Optics
- New production ACOG
- Night Force

In that order.

I have had a Beeman SS4 air rifle scope on my colt AR for about the last 15 years. I bought it originally for my RWS Diana 45 .177 tack driver/Skunk killing machine. I also got the lighted reticule module and it is sweet.

It would be ironic if a (relatively speaking) inexpensive air rifle scope could "withstand" the internet mythic recoil of a Scar17.

just picked up the same CZ tonight, such a cool little gun! I'm real pleased...been lusting after one for a couple years now.
