I would buy two if there is a chance that you or a friend would really like it. You can always sell the extra, give it as a gift - or just have one in a BOB or for travel.

I am pretty sure that you will be able to sell it for about what you paid so the risk is relatively low.

I have a bunch of knives that I don't use but there is safety in numbers - so I just keep them.

How long do the blades usually stay available once released - I hate the idea of finding a "holy grail" product just to find out it is discontinued.

I don't have any kids in school and I swear that my school taxes go to personally finance the entire high school English department.

I didn't say mine was only 1700 either wink And we STILL live about 30 miles out from the city...

I will have to try to find some -- the website is down. frown

The problem that I have is that I cut a lot of vegetation when I am in the tropics with mine. Sometimes I get staining/rusting along the cutting edge of a non-coated blade within a few minutes of use. Literally 5 minutes and I have stains starting to show.

I don't have the problem when I am just chopping wood. And I never see anything like it in the upper midwest. Maybe the vegetation is more acidic.

Check out Eezox Knife Care, this stuff really works and it dries to the touch so you can't wipe it off once it's cured.

It is likely that it will be gone before you receive the one you ordered. They may pop up again in a show, Ganza, or resale market but almost never lower than this price.

Unclear if this is a special offering or will be around a while.

Thanks for all the responses - I knew the Busse model's (Busse, SW, SYKCO) came and went, but the 911, 711, etc had been around for several weeks, so I was curious if there was a general time line.
