I know what you mean One thing that drove me nuts when I wore watches was having to reset the time on them Still bugs me when the clock in my car is a different time than my phone I have just decided I need to collect the expensive stuff for some reason and it has much less to do with the "oh look what I have" than it does with owning things of quality that are mechanically advanced or perfected. that is one of the biggest issue with owning as many as I do every time I pick one up I need to reset it because of daylight savings or it ran out of spring while sitting

I prefer a simple face on my watch My Ecodrive is too cluttered with useless stuff It has three dials on it One is for selecting function such as alarm One dial has 0 to 9 on it, the hand points to one of the numbers which indicates the year I.e. 0= 2000 or 2010 or 2020

My dad had an old fashioned timex wind up watch Back around 1974 or 1975 he lost it while tar and graveling our roof About ten years later I am helping him do some repairs and I find the watch sitting on top of the fireplace chimney, the leather strap is all rotted away I wound the watch up and it worked I wore it for a few years and then gave it to my youngest brother He still uses it

LOL that's awesome
The atomics work by setting when they have a signal but they dont need one so they should be fine when you are away from civilization.

We have some atomic wall clocks at work and every once in awhile they seem to get confused and the hands just spin around for a couple of minutes
