OK Dogs, 2014 is here, so here is our beginning numbers as best as I can figure out.

The new year began at post number 832,131 at 12:56AM.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is now at 30,504 posts, no change since the year began.

The Knives Forum section is now at 746,787 posts, up from 746,662 giving us a 125 post increase starting out the near year.

The S4 Death chat thread remains a 433 pages

The Friendly contest thread remains at 1002 pages.

The Run For The porch thread remains at 1458 pages.

Our beginning Update post count is now at 832,257 posts, up the beginning 832,131 posts resulting in a 126 post increase.

Don't forget the NEW 1 Million or Bust Friendly Contest thread! Goal is 8K pages so we can claim Dan's promised prize! Let's see how many JYDs and 10K Club members we can add this year! Can we double our ranks? I think so!!!

This Up and coming Thread may well be the one to watch in 2014. Five and a half hours old and it's already got 28 pages!

OK, on this the first update since the 1st, I bring to you the numbers.

Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is at 30,511 posts, up from Wednesday mornings 30,504 giving us a 7 post increase.

The Knives Forum section is now at 748,047 posts, up from Wednesdays 746,787 giving us a 740 post increase.

The S4 Death Chat is now at 437 pages, up from Wednesdays 433 giving us a 4 page increase.

The 1 million or bust thread is now at 56 pages, up from Wednesdays 53 giving us a 3 page increase.

The Run For The Porch thread is now at 1486 pages, up from Wednesdays 1458 giving us a 28 page increase.

The Friendly contest Thread remains unchanged at 1002 pages.

The TOTAL Forum post count is now at 833,524, up from Wednesdays 832,256 giving us a 1268 post increase.

So as we relentlessly pursue our 1,000,000 post goal we now find ourselves needing 166,476 more to go.

FYI, the "Million Post Friendly Contest" thread needs about 22 pages a day to reach it's goal of 8000 pages and one million posts by year's end. Anyone have stamina here? Remember, this contest actually comes with a prize (we hope), since Dan promised something special when we hit that mark. Now get over there and waste time and pixels!

Can't keep having these 3 page increase days!

Generally speaking we need about 462 posts per day on the site to hit 1 million by year's end!

We can do that EASILY!

It's possible, but it's going to take some determination and some work.

And some stamina
