Just found out my Doctor is going independent. He is going to have a patient base of 500-600 patients, no more. He will be available 24/7. Same day or at worse second day office visits guaranteed. $65.00 a month to join his practice. UNLIMITED office/in hospital visits at no additional charge. Plus there are many lab tests that are also included in the 65 dollar fee. he has negotiated VERY reasonable fees (really really cheap) with outside labs such as:


Basic Chemistry Panel
CBC
Comprehensive Chemistry Panel
HBA1C
Lipid Profile
PSA
TSH
Urinalysis
Vitamin D Level

None of the above tests carry a charge of more than $19.00!

Any other testing will be sent to, or patient will be referred to a regular lab for tests. Those tests will be billed as regular insurance fees.

He will NOT take any insurance, payment will be cash on the barrel head.

Not sure if Patty and I should join this or not. We've both got insurance, but he is a GOOD doctor, something that is getting harder to find all the time. So for both of us it would be $130.00 a month.

I have insurance through work here AND Tricare. Patty has Medicare and Tricare. So insurance coverage for us doesn't cost us anything.
The quandary we are in is if the $65.00 or $130.00 a month would be worth it just to have him as a doctor?

Oh and he WILL NOT be Sharing information with insurance companies or giving the government access to any patient information unless the patient requests it be made available.

I know it sounds kind of pricy, but I am leaning toward this plan. I know the care I would be getting and also that Patty would be getting better care than she is now from her Regular General Practice doctor.

Now I just got to convince her that it's worth 130 a month.

I've heard of several doctors doing this. Sounds like a good thing to me. I think the level of care would be worth $130/month.

How much is your insurance deduction on your check I know mine is right around that if not more. Plus it sticks it to the socialists and that's always a good thing.

I don't have any insurance deduction. The county pays for my insurance there and you help pay for my Tricare!

I like the idea. The only issue would be if you needed care he can't provide. cardiac care or an ER visit. If it was worth it on top of your regular insurance for the bigger things.

He does not do ICU or ER. But office and in hospital (non ICU/Critical Care) visits are unlimited in his group. Main reason I am considering this is I really like him. He reviews my file every time IN THE ROOM, to see what happened/was done the last time. He is very thorough and likes to get to the bottom of things. He doesn't like to leave things hanging.

I guess there are starting to be quite a few doctors going to this type of practice.

Here is what he is gonna do. I would expect it to be similar to other Doctors around the country, at least as to basic services. I posted the link just so you can see what it actually is. I had never heard of such a thing before.

The only issue I can see with it is that the Obama administration wants to fine/tax you for not taking part in there rigged game. Although in your situation I guess that wouldn't be an issue.
