WOOHOO!!

I just scored an '05 Vic Soldier for Jordan. New in box! Still looking for an '03 for Cain if anyone happens to come across one - I'd take a Wenger Issue as well.

Dice,

Good on you.

The whole situation is unfortunate.

Remember that your son gives you a significant and irrevocable tie to Cain's Ma, and it is in his best interest for her to live as well as possible, and for you to have as good of a relationship as you can with her.

i just realized how much i shortened my wishlist over the past two days. all that's left are the d'allara drop point, the colored alox cadets, and the scrapper seven which doesn't exist yet. attained are the ranger assault knife, the rat warden, the m2k, and the 510. i also want a mod-4, which i know many of you own and love, but when th s-7 comes out for about the same price, i'll be glad i held out.

Absolutely - my family and I have done everything we can to help her out.

My dad has done a whole lot! I gave her a car to drive for a year or so until my dad actually GAVE her a car (and pays insurance and maintenance costs on it) - I've paid child support without failure, my dad put her in college but she dropped out and he even put her on his cell phone plan so that he/we can get ahold of her any time.

She doesn't take to help very well, and its pretty unfortunate.

I also found out that she's pawned some things that I bought for my son - so that has me wicked pissed as well.

Trying to stay civil though, for now, but there will probably come a time when I will feel that a "big change" needs to happen.

Thanks for hte advice though.

My list is real short now.

A scrapper EDC and a few SAKs. I'm pretty well maxed out on steel for a while!

I understand.

Don't give up on her. Some people are slow learners, but eventually pull themselves up by the bootstraps and better themselves. She may just need time and some harsh lessons to grow up.

sounds like you should get full custody for the sake of your son. she can't take care of herself, how can she care for a child?

Going in steps...

I found out about my son being "my" son when he was about 1. We got a lawyer right off the bat, and he was slooooow. Then he had health problems. Things were going well though, because my dad lived so close, and because I was in Korea for 3 years at that point. I got back from Korea a year ago, and our lawyer (who was someone my dad has known for a long time) was just not working out at all - but we'd been working with him so long and he knew about the entire situation, etc, and about a month ago we decided to can him. So my dad hired another lawyer a couple weeks ago to get birth certificate stuff rolling, and a parenting plan in place. Like clockwork, she bugs out right when we're finally getting things in order. Such a nightmare.

Right now, I don't have any legal parental rights, which is what we're taking care of next week when we all sit down with the lawyers. Then, any hairbrained events would fall in to "custodial interference." Which, unfortunately, had we had our paperwork in line in the first place, would have been what I would be going to court over instead of just trying to get this parenting plan in place after all these years.

Things had just been soooo smooth up until now that we never thought we had anything to worry about.

I just found out about a lot of "negative" things after some long talks with her other child's father (who is a great guy). Pretty complicated...

He's a great kid - smartest boy I've ever seen - and she's not a "bad mother" she just makes bad life decisions on her part. She's great with him. (other than the pawning of the Les Paul PeeWee I got him - which has me furious - but I can always get him another one...).

I had joked with my dad that and said that I'll BE a Lawyer and take care of this stuff myself before his friend gets everything taken care of.

Its not quite as funny now
