Dice,

I love taking the little ones to the park. SO much fun.

i'm pickin out a small axe. i want the gransfors brux mini but that's $130. the marbles pocket safety axe is $20 but it's made in china and i have a bad feeling about that folding blade cover. then there's the fiskars/gerber 8" hatchet, made $30 but i doubt the head has a very thin grind to it.

any words?

I know very little about axes - but my neighbor/roommate (same house) is a wildland firefighter and said that he's used the heck out of his little Gerber camp axe w/ composite handle. It looks pretty beat up too - and holding up well.

I didn't look that close. I'll see if he's got it handy tomorrow if he's around.

No chips or rolls though - but I know it wasn't a very thin edge.

Sweet!

I've never been a huge Gerber fan.

My Gerber multitool had sprung handles and a broken screwdriver from what I would consider "normal" use.

Yes she did. Very cool, for a 1.5 year old.

She started at the bottom, and climbed up to the top.

Cool!

The rabbit ears on her hood are pretty funny/cute as well!
