the only stuff in cans I consider to actually be fish are things like sardines and sprats, stuff that nobody's gonna catch around here. I would murder six dudes for some fried smelt right now. I could probably eat a couple pouns, with some chips or fried onions.
right now I have a buttload of pics uploading to flickr so I can destroy the modems of all the dial-up dogs with pics from the pumpkin carving last week. mmmmmmm...sardines! What about anchovies you don't like those little guys?

I like the ones from spain. most of the ones you find around here are too, too salty. most small fish in tins are good. my favorite thing recently are this particular brand of riga sprats that are smoked. I drain off the oil and cover them totally in lemon juice, eat the whole can in about five minutes. good with feta, too.

Oh now don't make me think about feta I could eat it everyday but there's nowhere around here to get any good feta. The stuff they have at the supermarket sucks.

you just have to move someplace with a ton of italian delis. we have like, um, five. and the russian ones. and dutch. and german. plus the hippy food store and one of the local grocery chains both have insane cheese sections.

I try to go down to Atlanta at least once every six months. A friend of my father has a Greek Deli there and I stock up on feta,orzo, olive oil and other goodies. The I go grab about 6 Varsity dogs and usually stop at Brigade Quartermasters on the way back home. I have family down in Atlanta so I don't go just for the cheese but mostly just for the cheese <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

man, I missed the greek festival here this year. I got stood up three different nights! people are bastards. four days of greek food and dancing, and drinking for the gentiles, and everyone bones out. ugh. I'm gonna go make a feta and sun-dried tomato omlette in a little while.
