I tell ya bro, they do serve a purpose. To have a nice size blade in your pocket or other tight/small place is wonderful/very convenient. and with an axis lock you can just "pop" it open (which once you do you'll luv) or just open it with the thumb stud or hole. very nice one hand operation. plus they look perdy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I spoke too strongly, but I guess what I meant is that I'd take a fixed blade over a folder any day - but the SAK has kind of changed my mind!
I do like the Axis lock - maybe "someday" I'll get a nice Bechmade w/ it.
Gotta say though, the Trekker is pretty sweet! slightly wider than my CS Voyager and has a whole lot of stuff in it!
And the little Soldier is TINY and still has 4 tools in there!
And then the Champ - its just loaded! I was thinking of all the uses... In the field, the tweezers and little strait pin would be great for getting splinters out of the kids' hands and feet, and the magnifying glass would be helpful there as well. Mag glass for fire starting, screwdrivers and can/bottle openers are always handy, micro screwdriver for tightening your classes (don't you hate it when they get loose?), little scissors are surely nice, and the ballpoint pen is something I'm always forgetting, and really - I usually forget to take a corkscrew w/ me when I take a bottle of wine to a friend's house (and its amazing how many people don't have one!).
