My 1111 currently remains a safe queen until my NMFBM is finished/delivered and I can decide if I want to keep the 1111. It IS the Yard's FBM after all...

With that said, IMO the 1111 feels like it has a MUCH heavier swing weight vs. the 1311. However, from a physics standpoint, it does not and the 1311 wins. Even though it is about 33% thicker than the 1311, the 1111's rotational moment of inertia is only about 80% of the 1311's despite being only 2" shorter (85%). Kinda surprising. (This assumes published weight specs of 19 oz. for the 1311, and 21.6 oz. for the 1111. I don't know if those are correct, and need to verify them for myself.)

Scrap, Please let me know the weights you get. The ones listed now SHOULD be pretty a pretty good representation of the weights.

I agree with you E/S, and the tan/camo clip-point model is my FAVORITE! grin It was a special run offered up at a Knob Creek show I believe, and I was able to buy one from messer 454 at the Busse Bladeforums buy/sell/trade forum. smile

Skunk, I weighed them tonight. I get 606 grams for my Sage/Tan 1111 (21 3/8 oz), and both of my 1311's come in at 528 grams (18 5/8 oz).

Close to the current published numbers, but 3/8 ounce light in both cases. I KNOW that my scale is accurate to less than a gram, FYI.

The 1111 is longer, heavier, and more brutal than the DF. Doesn't have the choil or humpback either. It is second only to the mighty MOAD. You need one! wink

PK, yessir! I really think if I could only have one knife, the 911 would have to be the guy. I think it's the ultimate in-between all-arounder. However, that might change after I do my test with an RMD tied to the end of an axe handle. wink

A 3/16" thick Regulator with a DogFather style handle would be good competition! grin
