Our rights are limited. From my point of view criminals have more rights than we have.
Police is supposed to protect but in the same time "they" are all the time reducing the number of police men.
Criminals first break the law and when they get caught they are protected by the law...

There are numerous cases when people have been found guilty of assault or other similar crimes when they were actually protecting them selves from criminals.

I think that now when "they" are reducing the number of police men "they" should provide us the tools to protect our selves.

Here in the U.S. the Supreme Court (I think) has ruled that the police do not have any duty to protect THE INDIVIDUAL, just the public at large from criminal activity.
