I've been sharpening steel, reprofiling edges and trying to decide what I am going to carve the turkey with.

you must have missed my thread, we've started a "Cut the Turkey with the DogFather" club! even the boss is in on it!

Well, I am all tired out here so it is time to call it a night. The weather is suppose to warm up to -10 tomorrow so hopefully I can wander off into the woods for a big and give some blades a workout.

Well,

I guess it wil be a Dogfather. I'll have to pull out one of the unsed ones and break it in on the turkey. My user is just too used for my wife to let me use that one. There is no way to make it look good enough to her for me to carve with it. It does have a wicked edge though.

I kept hearing this loud tapping noise on my roof for weeks and did not know what it was until finally we saw the shadow of a huge turkey sized raven whcking the shingles with it's beak to get seeds out. We have some really big ravens around here ,big enough that they grab the occasional rat dog. I like them ,they are beautiful clever and have absolutely no fear. I saw one in the back of a pick up at the grocery store tearing open a bag of groceries and flinging things out of the truck to the other ravens. In norse mythology the raven is good luck.
