tedwca,
like Magnum22, i keep coming back to this thread too! Beautiful stuff!

Couple questions..
1. Is this their website?.. http://www.valiantco.com/ (Australia?)

2. How is their Steel?
I've just quickly perused their website.. lots of different models, their prices seem pretty Low!

3. Do they have any Users?
Those intricate bone handles look Nice(!) but say "safe queen" to me.. do they have any "hard use" type handles?
i've dabbled in HI khukuris.. their bone handles seem to almost always crack in hard use (or dry storage).. which is why i bought my 1st khuk w/ wood handle and i sealed the heck out of it.

4. Where's a good place to buy these?
I saw an Ebay Store that says they're affiliated w/ these folks..

Thanks for sharing pics

1. Yes, that is the parent site. I would recommend ordering from Bill Wray as he doesn't ask for money until the knives arrive. The parent site is pay when you order. I ordered these in Sept. 06 and there were periods of complete silence from Valiant due to family and computer issues for the owner of Valiant.

2. It's 5160 steel for the most part IIRC. There is a thread on the damascus over at Ramanon. They are differentially hardened also.
http://ramanon.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41981&highlight=Valiant+damascus

3. The guys at Ramanon use the Valiant goloks all the time for hard use and they seem to hold up well. They are actually water buffalo horn btw. Also the only HI handle I've cracked was wood.

4. PM me if you want Bill's website as I would only order from him due to the possible erratic delivery from Valiant. They always seem to come through, but can be trying if you've paid up front. The prices are low because they are made in Indonesia and the labor cost is low, similar to khukuris in Nepal.
