I'd prefer a coated knife, but a bare firesteel area is fine with me.

This made me laugh. I like the aesthetics of a choil (no matter how elfish), but agreed on a USABLE choil.

I would especially like one with the cutting edge ground AWAY from the finger at a 45 degree angle instead of at a 90 degree angle that cuts the finger.

Love the looks. Not sure I can justify it. Maybe if the yard sale goes well....and by well I mean raised 5k to pay to re-plumb the house, then maybe I'll go for it grin
