that black one is the triflex model. it's thicker stock and differentially tempered of 1095. a popular model but i prefer the sandvik. they have the same edge angle, you can see the bevel ends a bit further back on the thicker blades.

oh man the newsest model, the D-2, is in my opinion the hottest bowie him imp has ever released. i badly want one, check the dotd for the most recent one.
and yes, i know about the second hand warranty deal. story was some would buy them cheap second hand, destroy em, and claim the warranty. i'm not worried about that. Yangdu knows me, that was my main forum before the yard, if anything was ever to happen to it i'm sure she'd take care of me. not like i have use for a 25" siru anyway, so even on the extremely slim chance it was a lemon, i'd never know.
True enough, and the blades are not serial numbered or anything, so a crook could still take full advantage of the warranty. I like the D2, but I think the giant Chitlangi bowie is the coolest HI chopper I have seen.

12.5" wetterlings hatchet, hanmade in sweden like the gransfors and the edge was sharp for the front two thirde. the beard was not as sharp but it would still do a great job.

Cool Magnum. I've got a Gransfors Pocket Axe which I love.
What to get a larger one for when size/weight isn't an issue but they are not cheap.
