I'm going to agree w/ you there - the grip feels great. Mine is every bit of 10 years old too - and it shows no sign of getting "hard" or anything like that.

Thanks everybody for the feed back. I like the 642's looks, I also the S and W 442 looks good, is that what yours in Rat F.?

Bond - the 442 looks like 642's twin - only black. Is the 442 +P rated?

642 & 442 look like they really are twins from the basic specs and pix, other than color - anyone know the difference? They're both Airweight and .38 +P, both come in hammerless, and they have the same grips. Hmmmm... Well Bond, you can't go wrong w/ either of those I'm sure. Its about as intrusive as carrying a cell phone around - awesome gun.

Do ya know what it weighs? Just curious. I was thinking of getting a new carry gun when I can save up some cash. I was originally thinking either an airweight revolver, or a compact .45 like a Glock.

I think it 15oz empty, but I could be wrong. That's pretty good. I weighted my Mustang and Glock a while back. I have the weights in my comp...lemme go see...empty chamber, full magazine with holsters they weighed: Glock - 33.2 oz Mustang - 18.3 oz
