Here's a little range report...got the new AR dialed in and this was my best at 100...

Also brought the Ruger Ranch in 7.62x39 out with different ammo...

Tula 122 fmj

Silver Bear 125 sp...where did #3 go?

I think I threw it over here with American Eagle 124 fmj!

Wolf 122 fmj

Fusion 123 was hotter and one went off the target

Herters 122 hp

Tula 124 sp...only had time for 2 rounds

PMC 123 fmj

Before those one I shot this at 50 yards with Herters 154 sp that the gun hated at 100 the 1st time I went out...I was surprised!

Just a couple thought..this rifle has a lot more accuracy than this..I wasn't shooting well and feel like I was maxing out my 2x7 scope and eyes...with better glass and shooter, these would tighten up for the most part.

Interesting how much it liked the Wolf and Tula though! Cheap shooting fun!

I really like the rifle..a lot!

I was struggling with the new AR too. Took awhile to dial it in and the rifle didn't care for American Eagle 55 grain which is a shame...because that's mostly what I have! That group from the pic is PMC 55 gr..

After months of shooting zero rifle...I was struggling. My eyesight has worsened the last couple years too and targets at 100 yards are getting smaller and more blurry! Time to start bringing the 22 to the range every week again. Even shooting 30-50 rounds at 75 feet helps my breathing and trigger control!

Hey RN, I noticed that a lot of times when I switched between ammo brands or even weights that first few rounds will be affected by whatever was shot before. It can really mess with your results when finding what your firearms likes. I'm not sure if you are doing this already but you may want to plan to shoot 2-3 rounds of whatever ammo you are testing and then shoot a couple groups just to be safe.

That's my plan when I get back out to the range. I also plan to take plenty of notes. I hate to go through all that and not be able to remember what was what. I have to start all over with my CZ 550 because I can don't recall what all shot with it. I'd rather my next range trips be for honing in some skills than repeating expensive ammo tests that I already did.

Most of my ammo choices have been based off shooting whatever was cheapest lol. I hope to get more dialed in and at least have a plinking round and a "utility" round for my rifles. I hope to get a couple dialed in where I can have some sort of premium ammo I can play with. I would also like to play with reloading some day down the line

My research is invalid?! shocked

Back to the drawing board! Although it really liked the cheap stuff before as well.

In other shooting news...got an Aimpoint Pro for the new AR as well. I think having the two optics with easy on/easy off mounts will work ou well and I really wanted a tough proven red dot. That best group I posted with the 1-6 was after taking the scope off and mounting it again- did a great job of holding zero.
