Looking to replace it with a .308 bolt-action "Scout Rifle" a la Jeff Cooper.. but i prefer iron sights. I hike around in the desert a lot.. so Lightweight is important to me.. w/ long range punch.

Savage reintroduced their Scout rifle this year or late last year and it has ghost ring sights. I have heard about zero about it in the gun mags though.
