We (me and my surveying staff) like the Martindale blades the best right now.... Tramontinas have a good rep...but we still like the Martindale.... Horn Dog has gotten me interested in the Condors.... I am in the process of acquiring one for trial.... The one problem I see is length.... I haven't seen a Condor over 18" and I think anything less than 24" is just not enough around here.... certainly for surveying, 18" and less just doesn't hack it...(pun intended)....We are currently using 24" Martindale and the general consensus is the wooden handles.... they can be shaped and smoothed to suit.... one or two like the plastic handles.... but after using the wood with sweaty hands.... I like the wood....Years ago... the best around was Collins Legitimus.... plastic handles.... man they were sweet....razor sharp with a mill bastard file in seconds and hold an edge through dry Brazilian pepper....I have seen dry Brazilian peeper take out a hunk of metal in many a blade.... I would put this stuff up against ironwood....and its an invasive here...
