I don't have a doubt of this, all the pictures and videos I've seen speak by themselves!
These knives are made out of DAN modified ball bearing and jackhammer bit steel
What does that mean actually?
Scrap Yard Knives melts its own steels and make modified versions of 52100 and S7?
And his heat treat on 154 is just AMAZING!
I would even call it revolutionary given the performance the Mud Puppy did at the beginning of this thread.
What I don't understand however, is why other heat treaters and metallurgists don't try to duplicate this level of performance by getting most from the available steels. This kind of performance is never seen elsewhere (I haven't myself) and as a hopefully future knifemaker it is kind of frustrating that I won't be able to get most of the steels I will use.
