Differential heat treat sr101 would be fine for these knives- (ie I'd consider buying a 711 in diff' sr101 as the SOD is long gone) the CT and BR were legends.. Personally I'd much prefer good old sr77 just because it doesn't rust too much, if at all, in my experience! I understand that sr101 needs a bit more 'love' to keep tin-worm at bay. We'll see how my 511 does!
