I like the AD, and the opportunity to get one for say $120 - $150 with micarta, has me waiting for specs and pricing. I think SR-101 does great on small blades and I don't think I'll pass on the AD.

True..... I do not like SR-101 on big blades. Just doesn't work well for me.

Chopweiller is a 7" blade? That's not what I were referring to. 9-13" is what I meant. I had a 911 and still have a 1111. It's just to difficult to sharpen. 1095 would be a better choice, a lot easier to sharpen and more edge stability/toughness.

IDK about that...my Battle Rat is a work horse. It has a thinned out edge and maintains it great.

The timing on this AD is tough for me...might eyeball the price first, although it will be hard to monitor from work too.
