I like the AD, and the opportunity to get one for say $120 - $150 with micarta, has me waiting for specs and pricing. I think SR-101 does great on small blades and I don't think I'll pass on the AD.

SR-101 not good for big blades???!!! Tell that to my Chopweiller! Chopweiller is a 7" blade? That's not what I were referring to. 9-13" is what I meant. I had a 911 and still have a 1111. It's just to difficult to sharpen. 1095 would be a better choice, a lot easier to sharpen and more edge stability/toughness.

IDK about that...my Battle Rat is a work horse. It has a thinned out edge and maintains it great.
The timing on this AD is tough for me...might eyeball the price first, although it will be hard to monitor from work too.

They're up now! I just scored one DC finish with Black Micarta handles. I just couldn't stop myself!
