I like the CS machete line as well as their hawks and weird niche weapons but not their knives. I really like the machetes 1055 steel for the heavy brush like the kind we have here in northern sask. I will have to pick up a barong and maybe a bowie for some modding.

Its a good thing the Dog Father came along to replace the Carbon V Trailmaster as the premier chopping bowie. I prefer the Res C handle to the kraton CS handle both in shape and material. And we have seen the extreme toughness of SR77. I like the broader blade, too. But, as you say, their machetes and hawks are fine. I still like the Voyager folders, too. I consider the DF to be a superior chopper to the FBM or FFBM only because of the shock absorbing Res C handle.

Yes, scrappy, all my other CS machetes were made in S. Africa. These Chinese ones look much nicer. The grinds are more uniform, the handles are better, and the sheaths are better. They are all made from 1055 steel, though. I'm afraid China is an 800 pound gorilla in the world market now.

Those look real nice! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Keep it up and eventually you have to build yourself a special Machete hut just to store all those choppers... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Glad to you got to have some fun with your barong and bowie H-D. I hope my barong will be waiting for me when I get back to Texas this weekend. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I don't have any machetes either. For choppers, I have a gaggle of kukri and a BRKT Golok. What I don't have is anything left to chop.
