Of these three knives, the Dumpster Mutt, Ratmandu, and the Badger Attack, which would choose as a survival knife and why?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Urban - Dumpster Mutt
Rural - Ratmandu

The DM excels at the prying and abuse you would need to forage in the urban jungle.

The Ratmandu has the thinner profile and the blade isn't as tall. Seems more useful for typical rural tasks. It is still plenty tough enough for batoning though!

i would agree with coldone. the added thickness off the mutt would come in handy for the urban jungle. but that mandu is a nice knife. i was holding mine last night thinking, wow, this is a nice knife.

or a tin of delicious king oscar sardines in olive oil.
I'm going to go with the BA just to be difficult. plus, I like the pommel on the BATAC, it would come in handy for all sorts of things, like opening pecans.

I can't think of anything to say that is better than what Cold One said.
The Muttly for an entry tool/weapon and the RMD for more of a bushcraft knife.
I am regretting missing out on the RMD with the black G10 handle.

If I had to pick just one for what I do in the field, it would be the Ratmandu. The size, weight, blade profile and fit in my hand is about perfect for me.

PS> Unless you were referring to the Badger Attack III! Then I would have a tough choice.

My BATAC is a beast - my best "all around" - although in an urban environment the Mutt would clearly be better for prying.

But for a "do all" - the BATAC wins for me!

I like the Ratmandu and Urban Mutt better, but I have not actually used the Badger Attack. There is only one way to settle this for me. Next comparison will be these three Busse-made knives, slicing, chopping, notching, and batoning. The RMD fits my hand perfectly, but it is heavier and larger overall than the DM or UM. And the Badger Attack has that broad blade and big handle. It is time I found out what each of them can do in yard. I'm sure they all have their strengths. Should be fun. For "urban" survival tests, I guess a little prying and sticking are in order, eh? And maybe ease of concealed carry. The Badger Attack feels like a "Survival Knife", like the excellent Gerber LMF 2, which from personal testing I have respect for.
