by the way, if anyone with a golok would be so kind as to post some pictures and dimensions, i'd appreciate it.

Mine weighs just over one pound with a blade just under 11". It is light, fast, and chops like crazy!

It is 1 1/8" wide just past the choil, widening to 1 7/16" at the tip. It is .224" thick all the way to the end at the spine with a true zero convex grind. Overall length is nearly 17". Here are the official specs, but they vary some.

Golok Specs:

Overall length: 16.775 Inches
Blade Length: 11.1 Inches
Cutting Edge: 10.775 Inches
Steel: 1095 @ 57 rc
Steel Thickness: .224 Inch
Weight: 17.125 Ounces

Balance point is One Inch in front of the handles.

perfect. i'll probably skip the curve on the spine, it's a purely aesthetic pain in the [censored].

Hey guys, what do y'all think of this bad boy?

[Linked Image from i133.photobucket.com]

It's made by Burt Foster, and here are the specs:

W-2 steel with differential heat treat with a gorgeous hamon
10.25" overall
5.5" blade length
Samber Stag scales
Nicely tooled sheath

I can't quit looking at it, and I have a guy wanting to do a little trading with one. What do y'all think?

That looks amazing Tolly! I can't stop looking at it either.. Beautiful. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

It won't be right without the curve.

i think the curved edge and handle will be enough to create the effect, but i tried that last time and as you said it didn't work. i'm hoping i can get it right this time with a more subtle curve on the edge.

if it still doesn't, i'll add it.

thanks vic.

I really like the Goloks. I bought several of them and have used my user a lot. It's light and quick and chops well for it's size and configuration.
