So the little one was a little crank tonight? Makes you thankful for when they are little angels!

Can't argue with a 10/22. One of those is on my list also. I'll probably get the strippo version and replace everything... although folks are really liking the 17HMR...

Comparing a basic 700 to a cz550 is apples and oranges.

700 - $650
550 - $1150

For the price of the 550 I can get a custom barrel on my 700 and have the action tweeked and tuned up.

I say go for a pistol first, then a 10/22. Just my opinion that it is better to have a pistol at the house and then get the plinker.

thats what i was thinking....but with relocating money will be tight. but i mean id even get a revolver if the price was right. and im thinking most people at gun shows are probably not out to screw people. and since i dont know much about guns it would be a safe place to pick one up.

I have a few .22lr, and I wish I still had my 17 HMR. If I do another rimfire it will be the 17 HMR again. A CZ 453 American with a heavy brl, 6-18x scope, set-off a Harris bipod, free floated. Now, if I could get my wallet as large as the want list I wouldbe in business.

C/O, I can see where you would go the Remy route. The difference in price between a 700 (not basic model) and a CZ 550 here in the states is not near that. The difference is about a stock up grade and a drop in trigger mod. The 550 comes with a set-trigger and a nice stock. I figured the CZ would be cheaper in Canada due to the importing regs and such.

Hate to leave but I am falling asleep while waiting for the board to refresh. Don't know what is up unless PK is out there making us feel his pain of dial-up.

Night

How about a 453 varmint in .17 with a 4.5-14x scope? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Yeah, unfortunately not the case though. Still, I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the 700 once the range is accessible again.
