I think thats crazy. For that much you could have a BATAC or a HRLM and SWarden! or for that matter, a DMLE and your choice of benchmade or spyderco.

I wanted one of those too until I handed one at Blade 07. I also handled the ZT 200 and liked the shape and feel of it better, and it's cheaper too. I still haven't gotten one, but it's real high on my list. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I have never been a folder guy, I have a few Vic SAK's and my Vic Swiss Spirit Multi-Tool if that counts, but to me if ya need a knife tougher than a SAK then get a small fixed blade !!!
This is my only folder and I will admit that I used to use it quite a bit but since I got into fixed blades it just lives on my bedside table !!!

those ZT's are really nice. too pricey to justify paying for more than a kershaw in my eyes, though.

i have two crkt's out for delivery. should arrive in a few hours. i haven't had a crkt since i sold the m16-10kz a year ago. the advertised "razor edge" was as dull as the spine. that's not just an expression or exaggeration, i mean it. we'll see how these two turn out, it's crkt's last chance with me.

I don't really bother with CRKT's much anymore but I still have a few, and every one I ever had was RAZOR sharp out of the box. Some of them wouldn't hold it very long, but they were all amazingly sharp from the factory.

I love fixed blades, and if I could carry it with me without getting people to think I'm in a gang or out to hurt someone I'd carry one all the time. So I think the ZT is a good alternative, but it is pricey.

I've seen some with a compact kydex sheath and tek-lok, and I think it's a great setup.

Cloak's got one of 'em ZT 0200. They are actually very nice for the money. Fairly smooth flipper. The 0300 might be overkill, but they are so sweet and cheaper then Striders. Blade to handle ratio is 10000x better and use of the same materials. I think the 0300 are better because the also use a support liner with the G10, unlike strider which is just solid G10 on one side.

TAD Gear's special edition with the digi camo and battle swedge is really cool. Though, like you guys said, 295 + shipping isn't really worth it on folder. Well, I guess what's worth it is what the buyer makes of it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Though the normal 0301 and 0302, however, are really nice. Minus the auto assist and their perfect. (I hate assisted openers).

The 0200 are really nice. Kershaw does a really good heat treat on the 154cm. Cloak, I think, once was doing some bushcraft and accidentally slipped the blade out and the edge hit a small pebble pretty hard. It came it with nothing more than a slight roll to the edge. He got it out, say within a couple of seconds. They'd actually make a great companion with a Scrapyard. Their edge holding is good, their toughness isn't too bad either, and they're a good bang for the buck.

I'd really like to get a 0300 and take out the dang spring. It's nice to get such a good frame lock for less than $250. Unfortunately, folders aren't on my top priority list. Busse kin are though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

The reason I like the 0300 over the 0200 is because of the frame lock. The exclusive one from Tad Gear is nice, but I'm not going to pay that much. What's really keeping me back is the assisted opening...I have a A/O on a small kershaw which is nice, but on a serious, tough folder, the simpler the the open/close mechanism the better IMO. I don't know how well A/O performs with dirt/mud/sand/debris in it. I know under those circumstances your better off with a fixed blade, but I'd be nice if I didn't have to worry about getting down and dirty with it.

the best folder on earth is now officially the autumn orange alox cadet. no pics yet, but it's like a tiny piece of magic you can put in your pocket.

I'm tempted by the 0200. Either that or the full size Skirmish. My mini Skirmish is wicked sharp and the framelock is tank like. I imagine the full size one would be even mo-better.

someone mentioned the bm 950 the other day and that's got me hankering for a new folder. i had a 940 (both osborne designs with the reverse tanto blade) for years... it was the first knife i ever spent over $100 for. at any rate, still thinking...
