No, I have not. Sounds interesting.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

i saw that spyderco thread. i wasn't thrilled with the schemp khukri. it's hardly a khukri. the ricasso is at an angle and the blade's straight. pretty small compared to the CS. big difference between the locks, too.

native IV, on the other hand, looks great.

I think I'm gonna get my Dad a spyderco byrd...
probably one of the bigger ones...
I just got a medowlark, and once again, this is a first for me.

I REALLY like it alot more than I tought I would, it fits my hand great, feels suprisingly sturdy, carries great (because it's really flat) has a great edge on it (not too thin that I fell like I will roll/chip it and still cuts great) and is extremley affordable!

I should have listened to mag more when he went on about spydies and SAK's!

more people should. those who do can rest easy at night.

just to assure you of the potential of that knife, i took a buddy's with an edge that was torn apart and gave it one of the best convex edges i've ever done. this was without my belt sander, it was freehand on the stone. moral: have no reserve for the well being of that blade. it'll just get better.

it does seem very easy to sharpen, just a few strops on my jeans and I can see a difference.

I'll beat on it good mag!

that steel is the same as on the tenacious. that knife's proving itself among my 4" knives.

why does it have such a long name?!
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I was looking at some folders, and honestly, I'm still a little new to some of the high end folders, and most of the spydercos (and others) looked HUGE, to me...
idk why, but they really did.
and some folders that I thought were bigger were tiny. (like some of the benchmades... although some of them were mini's... but still)
like, I guess I never realized how bit a 4" folder was...

but anyways, the sportinggoods store near me has a big benchmade, spyderco and kershaw selection so...
good to know.

this is exactly what i am doing with my byrd flight, another great inexpensive knife, the crossbill on the other hand is just junk <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I would've guessed the crossbill is "junk." (although it's the same steel, materials and construction)
that design doesn't look very practical.
