Snotpig,

I despise you!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I've always wanted one of the BMs with M2. How's the AFCK going for you?

The closest knife I've had to the AFCK was an Ascent. I like fairly well... then I lost it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Both are awesome. The full size had the spine replaced with 1/8" ss tubing pieces (original broke), the frame screws have bee replaced (as the originals screwed into the G10 on the opposite side), the clip screws have been replaced (originals were phillips). The action is like hot butter. It has been opened and closed a half million times - seriously.

The mini is getting smoother. The M2 is sweet. I've looked for a full size M2 AFCK, but havent found one. If I had it to do over, I'd probably go plain edge and no serrations.

The only "super steel" that I own, which I don't use very often, is my S90V SOCOM.

I've been wanting an Axis AFCK for quite some time.

I've got a mini SOCOM in 154 CM. It is a very different steel than the ATS34 of the AFCK. I'm not sure what it is (HT, etc.), but it can't touch the edge holding capabilities of my ATS3 blade.

S90V is an awesome steel. Is your SOCOM a framelock or one with the lock bar mech? Ive always wanted a full size original SOCOM. Now that I've found the yard, I'll sadly never be able to afford another knife brand again! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Here's an old pic of the lock.

I'm thinking of getting a s90v millie just so we can be steel buddies. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

The SOCOM is a sweet knife. Ive always been wary of the thin tip esp in 154CM. Im guessing that youve had no problems with the S90V. Too bad they're discontinued - the M/A.

Yea, I really like the M/A of the SOCOMs. No blade play whatsoever and very smooth.

You also need to remember the knives that Microtech make aren't for bushcraft, they're made for killing. I'm wary of the tip, too, but then again, it's purpose isn't top dig through wood.

Mac,

You could get me one too so we'd be Spydie buddies. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Or you could buy one yourself and save me the $200. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

HD, step away from the SOCOM. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Mac,

Naw, I'd rather you go through the trouble. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
