The liner on the G10 Tyrade are thicker than the handles on the Leek. It is a pretty amazing knife.

There was a screw up on these. There are 240 bead blasted finish and 0 stone washed. It was supposed to be half and half. Also there will be a double run of the tan ones, the blue version will not be made (boo). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

The blade stock on the Tyrade is probably the same as the S5 minus the coating. [censored] thick for a folder. The liners are supposed to be at least as thick as those on the JYD IIs.

How are you liking your JYD II? I was able to pick up an SG2/Ti version with the frame lock. Its got a great feel but it might end up a safe queen for me. I wish it was flat ground (or saber depending on your point of view) like the G10 versions. I am guessing my Orange Tyrade will take the spot of heavy duty folder for me.

My JYD II was very stiff and hard to open when new, but now it flicks right open. It's a good heavy duty knife. But I like the assisted opening "flicker" so much on my ZT301, I figured I'd like it on the Tyrade.

I own the Orange Tyrade - one of the 120 that are to be made <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> and it is a nice folder. Pretty big - almost like the ZT folder in size. Mine opens great and the liner lock looks strong.

My next two folders are going to be the Sage II and the Manix 2 - both from Spyderco - that is unless there is a Busse-kin folder offered anytime soon. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I am glad to hear that, KS. Actually, I had been looking to get the Ritter RSK in orange when I ran across the Kershaw for much less. Sometimes I lose folders by setting them down and forgetting them. So I figured a blaze orange one would be harder to lose. And I tend to like large folders anyway.

The Tyrade in orange really looks great in person. It opens with a bit of a kick so make sure you always have a decent grip on it.

I am intrigued by the Sage II. I had a Sage CF for all of a week. I really liked it but 'lost' it in a trade. The Sage II looks very nice, especially because I like frame locks better then liners.

The Manix 2 isn't something I am likely to purchase. I am not a big fan of saber grinds and I don't care for 154cm. If it were CPM-154, then that would be a different story.

I'm reallly liking that Tyrade in Orange. I've always wished my JYDII had the A/O feature. Hopefully they'll be some around after I recover from the beating my checkbook has taken as of late....the Waki purchase hurt, but I'm sure I won't be whining when it arrives on Monday.

I wrote KnifeWorks the other day and they have all of them in stock still.

Yeah, it amazes me how long 120 knives can hang around. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I would of thought they'd sell out quicker.


Toast- I love the old Sage and the new one looks real nice so I'll definitely be picking one up...As for the Manix 2, I was thinking of getting it as an EDC to put in the rotation. It is stainless and has nice ergos. It's also not too pricey.


I really want a Strider folder...Or a CR Sebenza - Can anyone here tell me if those are worth the high prices they charge for them? How are they any different than a Kershaw, Benchmade or Spyderco that they are soo expensive? Is it that they are limited production? I don't think all Strider folders are...?

the only thing i can tell you is the craftsmanship on the sebenzas is second to none. Ti framelock & s30v steel..its a helluva knife

For some reason I find myself wanting an orange handled blade, but I could not carry it during football season as I like Oklahoma University. Now during wrestling season I could carry it because I love Oklahoma State's team.
