I have been EDCing my Hinderer for a while now and the magic is far from gone if anything its geting better. I love everything about it and the 3rd type of cool as our "favorite" youtuber would say is awesome also. If anyone has the means to get one I would highly recomend it and hey if you dont like it you could flip it for some Busse steel from me. lol

Rn didn't care much for it. I have the original, full size and it is in my 511 push pack as a "Get out of jail free" folder. I really like it. SO I just ordered it's younger little brother, the Rat 2 folder. Same steel (AUS8) and same shape and materials as the original. I think it will be a good replacement for my Small Sebenza. Just the prospects of maybe loosing a $400.00 knife over a $28.00 one makes a lot of sense to me. And I will carry the Sebbie again from time to time, but the Rat 2 will become my edc I THINK. We'll see for sure when It gets here next week.

This is it.

YES, I know the Sebbie is a higher quality knife and I really love mine. But like I said, the possibility of loosing the Sebbie or breaking it while doing something stupid would be a lot easier to take with a $28.00 knife. Plus the AUS 8 steel isn't all that bad.

I been wanting a beater of a folder and just got a benchmade vex today. I usually don't care for liner locks, but there's something about this liner I like...not sure what it is. I like it- good first impression!

add: just informed it's likely a knock off...burned on the 'bay!

Rich, I have a Benchmade Vex, and I don't remember the false edge on it, but that doesn't mean they haven't changed the design up. I REALLY like my BM Vex. It is my go to "Trash" knive, if I need to cut up something or scrape something. It's a little heavy but solid feeling in my hand and that gives confidence. I've "Boogered" up the blade more than once and it sharpened back up nicely. HOPEFULLY if it is a knockoff it will still have a good heat treat. If not, spend the 40 bucks and get a real BM Vex, they're worth it.

As I said earlier, I have high hopes for this little blade. I'll report back once I get it and then after I've carried it for a while.

Someone on BF gave me the heads up and I emailed BM to check. But I found the same knife on a BM forum that was ID'ed as a fake. I emailed the seller and will get a refund...I'll watch and see what he does b/c he has a group of them he's selling!

Rich, go here and check out the pics. I think that you DO have a knockoff.

Rich, take special note of the 4th picture down. Look how the primary grind line meets up with the false edge grind. Yours is a lot more pronounced and has a much sharper grind line to it and appears much closer to the edge (I am talking about height here).

But hey, if you don't have to return it it might still make a good beater.

Yep- totally different grind. I'm surprised I didn't notice. I also like where it said.. Tai wan...

A lot of it seems right on...right down to that waved clip. Must have come out of a solid factory.

I'll mail it out today!

Look forward to hearing what you think about the Rat II. Lots of folks are pleased with it!

out of curiosity, is there an official line on why bussekin doesn't do folders?

i know of the rat trap, but it would be awesome if they did one every few years.

I don't know for sure but I think someone said once a while back that they couldn't give the Busse warranty with with them they way they do the fixed blades. And or But it may be that folders are harder and more expensive to manufacture as well. SO unless Dan or Jerry pipes up we will probably never know for sure.
