I was feeling a little under the weather today, and felt kind of weak.
In fact I even had a hard time picking up my briefcase to go into the
office this morning. Odd, as I'm usually a fair bit perkier than this.
I must have a good cold coming on I thought.

When I got to work, I started wondering just what I had in my briefcase
that would cause it to be so heavy.
Here's the briefcase that I usually carry

Where did those knives come from I don't remember putting them there
Better take them out and see what it is that I'm carrying
Have you ever lost track of the number of knives you carry around with you?
Good thing that the people I work with are knife savvy. Would hate to work
somewhere that was full of "sheeple"

Wow! I don't have a job right now, just school, but I was always weary of letting anybody see the folding knives that I carried at work. I even worked in a warehouse! Granted that I do live in California (probably the sheeple capital of the country), but even some of the warehouse workers were surprised to see me pull out my Emerson Raven, Benchmade Pinnacle, or SOG Night Vision to cut up boxes. They probably would have called the cops if I brought any knives like you, Dotd.

Well dl351,

It really does help when you have a boss and fellow employees who appreciate good
knives. In fact, I think I've sold knives to 4 or 5 of the people that I work with.
My boss bought 2 from me

One day last week, I decided to go through the day without an EDC, not even a
pocket knife and everyone was concerned that I wasn't feeling well...

It's really nice to work for a company that doesn't get all bent out of shape
when it comes to knives. Everyone who works here is older and pretty laid back
about stuff like that.

Oh, but I'm not allowed to bring my shotgun to work...

Cheers

You have to appreciate a place like that. I have most of my knives delivered at work. Everybody on my hall comes to see my deliveries..

I would complain about the " no shotgun policy" - just doesn't seem fair

Ordawg,

I do live in Canada, so I guess that I have to cut them some slack in that
However, having said that, my boss wants to know the next time I'm going shooting, because he wants to come too...

i often forget how many knives i have on me when going to work. i ususally (always) have my emerson on me, my maxpedition bag has my leatherman, a spderco endura, and usually a small fixed blade (swamp warden, AD) although right now i think my MOD might be in there.

but i also try to keep one knife in each briefcase i might carry just in case. b/c you know. just in case. the one i'm using now has a ckrt in it. my company also distributed little emergency kits that have some water, an energy bar, a whistle, a micro mag flashlight, and a face mask. so i jammed some extra stuff in there including a decent sized gerber folder.

I get paranoid when i fly b/c i always think i might have missed unpacking a knife that has been stuffed in the corner of a bag for so long i forgot it was there.

A face mask? Due to concerns about bio- or chem-warfare?

I remember back in... mmm, 2000 I guess, I flew out to California for a week. Going through the security checkpoint, both my father and I had leatherman tools in our pockets. The basket-poker looked like he was going to make an issue but the supervisor of the station said that they were okay. Then we spent five minutes trying to find out what other metal I had on me because the detector kept calling me a liar. Turns out it didn't like the steel zipper on my vest.
