Well, dreaming can be reeeeeallllll good. Since we are talking about it I would love a Dog Father. For some reason that blade looks like a mean SOB. Of course a Dumpster Mutt would be in order too.
I have not had the pleasure of holding a Rat or Busse or even a SY yet (in a few days) but from the looks of the knives the SY line is my taste and resembles my mentality--beauty is in the functionality of the blade!
Men you can't trust, women you can't trust, beasts you can't trust, but Bussekin steel you can trust

IIRC Jerry instituted the current Busse business plan—which is the same as the Yard business plan—because the alternative was the Randall Made Knives business plan. Gary Randall offers the full range of knife models all the time, but with an ever lengthening waiting period. Current wait time for a Randall is about five years.
So I don’t think it’s going to happen, Dawg.

I would love for that to happy. but look at it in the company's stand point. It takes long enough just to mass produce one kind of knife. I can't imagine how much more time it would take to produce. Instead of waiting months for your knives, you will probably wait years.

This is my rifle, and that is my SHTF Busse knife.

I think that the Busse plan is a very good one. Rotate the blades so that the new Dawgs can catch up on the line, once in awhile introduce something new to keep things fresh and you have the best of both worlds.
Regarding waiting periods, I ordered a custom knife from a maker in May, and am expecting it to show up in the first 2 weeks of January. This makes me very happy, because the maker originally told me not to expect it for about 10 months. Now it should be getting here about the same time as my SOD

I'm all for that. I need another SS4. Ever since I got rid of mine I've been totally inconsolable.

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of the Yard. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of Dogfather's and SOD's.
I have a dream today.
