Gotta love them ShellBacks! Even for someone as old as I am. Why, I remember the pre-internet days! One thing I sometimes say is "I'm so old I remember when dirt was still mud". Cracks them up, (I'm olny 55 and don't feel like it, mentally).

Aren't those the ones that have an oblong hole sort of for a handle and only have blades about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long? I'v got a CRKT ring knife that is Karambit shaped and it has about an 1 1/2 blade. I think A G Russell disigned a couple different ones, one conventional blade with a gut hook and the karambit one.

Yeah, my sister in-law and a bunch of people I know only have dial up still. They only live a couple miles from town, but AT & T says they don't offer hi-speed there? Go figure.

No, I've not seen it. What's it about? I don't watch much regular TV. Mostly History, Nat Geo and Discovery, both here at work and at home.

The only TV channel I need is Discovery. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Taken is a movie about this old school body guard who tries to hunt down the people who kidnapped (human trafficking) his daughter in Europe. He'll do anything to find her. One of the scenes, he fights this guy with a karambit that actually knows what he is doing. Great movie.

Ok, I think I've seen previews about that. Wasn't he some kind of a spook or something?

I have two that i picked up before the busse addiction kicked in. Handy little things. I have the two finger hole kind and while its not super stable (little wiggle side to side) its impossable to drop.

Ok, I re-read your post. So he was a body guard, not a spook. Just had things mixed up. Yeah I've wanted to see that. I love karambits, I would love to have an emerson folding one.

Karambits are wicked in the hands of those that know how to use one. I like the emmerson ones too.

Cold Steel sells one called the secret or special agent. Looks like a good size, but it has 2 rings. Not sure about that. Anyone had any experience with one of the Cold steel models?
