i have some prety bright lights, but lately brightness is not my favorite aspect. my AAA victorinox (basically an Inova) is a good compromise for a single setting light between a comfortably dim light for reading and a bright one for open spaces.
the modes of the fenix didn't appeal to me at first, but now they're my favorite feature.
