Thats a really nice machete HD.

I found that a cheap machete will do just as good clearing brush as a $200.00 large knife will, but chopping large wood is different.

I liked that quote he made about using someones elses knife and 3 blade old timer. Its funny, I have the same old timer knife and still use it once in a while, but I'm afraid to loose it since it has sentimental value.

Believe it or not, my Condor Puerto Rican 14" machete will chop hard maple as well or better than my FFBM did. So why carry the extra weight?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I've started a few threads here in the Yard discussing my hammock camping setups.

Here's a general discussion of camping hammocks, where I answered a variety of questions about hammock camping:

And here's one that has some pics of some knives, but also some information about a more cold weather oriented hammock camping setup. It includes a post by me with some links to manufacturers of hammock tarps and insulation for under them.

And finally, Just Jeff (a guy involved with hammockforums.net, which is the place I learned most of what I know about hammocks) maintains an excellent introduction to hammock camping, at
