Does anyone else here like to watch really bad zombie movies while doing "air chops" with their knives? Tonight I really got a bad one. It's called "Night of the Dead". It's bad. I mean really bad. Which makes good. Right? Right. Well back to my air chops, coffee, and bad acting.

I air chop a lot, but don't watch too many zombie movies. Zombies are a hot topic on this forum though. I chop trees, and airchop imaginary trees. I might chop a few of my Cold Steel knives in half w/ the Dogfather one of these days... I'll make sure and take pix!

Talk to you guys tomorrow!

My favorite is "Day of the Dead". Don't do air chops when I watch zombie flicks however If the ScrapYard sword comes out, that may change. LOL.

Don't really do airchops during zombie flicks. I'm usually too busy watching the movie and dry firing.

I am a big Zombie fan, love all those cheesy flicks, and often fight them in my sleep =)

As for air chops while watching, never did that, but ever since my DMutt came, i found myself 'shadow boxing' with her.

You guys have to read World War Z!
It is a really well written book about the zombie plague and how people and governments dealt with it. Even people who don't like zombie flics will like it.

I have a full on zombie fighting suit, gear and even mad max style milsurp gear for my motorbike so I look like a fat action figure. The Ruck and AK47 are considered about the best antizombie weapons going but I personallyprefer an Enfield rifle with sword bayonet.

I love zombie movies also but I think my wife would kill me if I started swinging the SF around the living room while watching them. She hates them enough already.

Shawn of the dead My wife only noticed halfway through that she was watching a zombie flick.

Dawn, old and even better the remake . The remake is worth it just for the starting credits.

28 Days Later: talk about realism from one of my favorite directors (Trainspotting & Shallow Grave)

Hated World of the dead , plain boring. Sometimes I fall for a Resident Evil flick, not really good but lots of shooting.

And I don't airshop, I sharpen my knives.

O.K. so I don't exactly do "air chops" while watching these flicks. But it sounded funny at the time. I do fondle my knives though. Work on my BOB & SHTF gear. Then perhaps go train the AK in the backyard.

And +1 for the "shadow boxing" with the blades. I will have to try the DM with that once it arrives as the DF and AK tend to be a bit big for that.

28 days later is my fav zombie flick. The resident evil flicks come in second just because im a big fan of all of the games.

Its funny cause i air chop all the time and flip my DF around in the air ( i have it in the sheath when i do that wouldnt want to impale my face or cut my arm off.

Suction cup darts during zombie movies rock! Other viewers however may get annoyed, so save a couple of darts for them!

When I die I want to come back to life as a zombie. However, until then I'm fighting to the death.

I've even got my zombie kit put together. It consist of a remington 12ga, HK USPc .45, and the dogfather. Heavy hitters for heavy players.

I'm going to see Grind House tonight.

I would like to take my zombie slaying gear: AK, Crash Rat x2, FBMLE, DF, SOW x2, Imbel FAL or BFR. The theater probably wouldn't like it.

I'll have to wait for the DVD.

Shawn of the dead was classic. I enjoyed their cameo in Land of the dead. Evidently, George Romero considers Shawn part of his series.
Both Dawn of the Deads were great.
I am looking for the new expanded version of Night of the Living Dead that is beoing released soon.
I liked the Resident Evil movies; the hot chicks didn't hurt.
I tried reading WWZ, couldn't get into it. I am going to pick it up again next week, try it a second time.

My spring break is almost over and then it's back to teaching science to some of L.A.s finest .So I decided to do one more vid run and scored:

Zombie Night and Return of the Living Dead (necropolis)

They look horrible. I've got the blades out, a late night snack, etc.. I'm good!

Grind house was Awesome.

I heard that they might actually make Machete. If they do, I'm there.

If only they would make Thanksgiving or Warewolf Women of the SS.

If you like gore and you aren't afraid of four letter words or bare breasts, it will have you on the edge of your seat for over three hours.

Zombie movies are great. My zombie kit is a Wilson Scattergun 870, Colt M4 with Beta mag and reflex sight and a Glock 21, all with plenty of ammo. When I run out of ammo then the Dog Father gets a work out.

Hmmm... The thoughts of a sleep deprived mind.. What about a crossbow that can shoot knives? Dog Fathers specifically! The ultimate zombie toy! You could recycle the ammo too since no mere zombie could damage a dog father!

As even shotguns are a major drama to license over here I'm thinking katana for zombie disposal.. I saw a Hanwei Paul Chen katana which is differentially tempered carbon steel with a black iron tsuba for around £170 (around $320 US).. Anyone got one of his swords and how does it do on zombies?

oh yeah Paul thanks for reminding me.
I would very much like a ScrapYard SWORD for my zombie defense kit.

to be sure, a pair of Dog Fathers would be quite formidable..

but i NEED a ScrapYard SWORD! (thanks in advance Dan )

I have been asking for a sword from the yard for a long time. I think he said it's not in the plans but didn't rule it out either. This steel would be perfect for a sword and my zombie kit.

Got zombies? Then you need Zom-B-Gone! Simply spray the nest with thin coat of Zom-B-Gone and within minutes the zombies will shrivel up and disappear!

Problem is, now wife needs zombie gear.
She has a glock 9mm, and a chief's special .357, so hand cannons are covered.
She wants a shotgun, I'll try her out on the benelli at the end of the month when we are on vacation.
She also wants a 1911.
I am also gonna have to get her an assault pack, and a bowie. Actually, at her size, she'd probably think the scrapper 6 was a sword.

She loves the glock. actually, I have two, a 21 and a little bitty .40
She is a big wheelgun fan, though. Currently, she wants a bright blued taurus .38 with cocobolo grips, as well as a 1911.

I really think that the quanity of ammo you can carry is important here and not the size. I'm not saying 22's here but a M4 with a Beta mag would be nice here. I believe a handgun should always be the secondary weapon. With the pistol would should always go semi-auto for the fast reloading.

Are we talking about Night of the Living Dead zombies or the new Dawn of the Dead zombies? It seems like you could do alright with a camp shovel for the former.

Immigrate to North Florida. We practically give you a shotgun as part of your welcoming basket. On that note there was a car dealer in Talahassie (sp?) in that would toss in either a shotgun, or hunting rifle-your choise if you bought a new truck from him.

Im getting ready to head over to the Chiller Theatre convention now. Probably 10-15% of the folks will be dressed as zombies, with another 10-15% as victims of one sort or another.
I was just thinking, those people are gonna be SOL if, by coincidence, the real zombies come while there is a horror convention going on. I guess the proper response would be 'kill em all, let God sort them out'.

The movie from the Shaun of the Dead crew looks awesome, I think it's called "Superfuzz".

Before Pearl Harbour the head jap generals sat around and contemplated invading the US. They decided it was insane because of to many guns. I am not a big fan of the government(not fond of my own actually) but I thing Americans are freakin cool. I think zombies would last maybe a week in the US but in places like china and the UK where finding even a machete is difficult and all the people live in big cities it would be much different.

I was in a mall that had a SciFi convention next door and waiting in line was a bunch of Klingons, demons, elves, robots, etc. among normal people. It was really funny because no one even batted an eye at the aliens. My favorite was a normal looking girl with a TAIL swishing back and forth from out of her skirt. That was really cool and once again NO one thought it the least bit odd. I'm sure real aliens could walk around and the only thing they might get questioned about is where they got the great costume.

it also amazes me how many girls dress like whores at the conventions. Not that i mind, don't get me wrong. pirate whores, klingon whores, dead whores, all sorts of prostituty looks going on.
there were so many boobs out, that my wife went and bought a shirt maybe 3 sizes too small from a vendor, because she felt way out of place. have to blend into the environment, and all that.

All the AK's and katanas would make killing zombies easier but all you really need is a Dogfather and a good flashlight.

Guns are easier and you won't get tired. Beta mag would be the key. That reminds me. Beta is coming out with a mag for the HK91. Any body heard any details?

a beta would be good from a fixed position, or from behind cover, but i would be concerned that it would hang up on crap, if scooting and shooting was required.

I had my Buck fixed blade at the head of my bed. Too bad I lost the knife. I was only around 13 at the time. I was actually really mad at the guy for scarring me back then. I still want to drop the fool when I see his face on TV.

Hey J33p, you might want to alter your confession and fix the typo that admits YOU were the Night Stalker.

I have always slept with a knife as far back as I can remember. Probably around 6 or so, not sure why. My family has an odd connection with knives. I would get knives for birthdays and holidays like other people got GI Joes.

Hmm, sounds strange when I write it out like this, but has never seemed odd before now. Maybe I should give them all away.

Nah, who would want all my knives? I probably couldn't give them away.

Speakin’ of Zombies…did I ever mention I live out in the country with a graveyard the closest “occupied” space to me? It’s closer than my nearest neighbor (like ¼ mile away). I can see gravestones from my front porch. I told my cousin that the old wagon trail used to run between our property and the graveyard in the 1800’s. My Dad looked it up on old property maps at the library. My Dad metel detected in the area, but didn’t find anything of interest. My cousin swears our property is haunted. She said her and her boyfriend noticed “cold spots” while walking in our yard.

Cold Spots. I don't like cold spots.

Sigh,...It's been nice knowing you Andy. When the zombies come it looks like you're toast.

I bet he's got enough gear to fend em off. While we're all holed up in our houses he'll be an experience Zombie Slayer.

He'll be the guy that was in the movie Tremors. Michael Gross's character.
