Cool! Owning your own house is nice, but then again EVERYTHING is on YOUR dime! Oh well, at least "THEY" can't tell you your rent is going up! AND if They come on your property you can tell them to get the He.. off!

I'll just be happy to have some equity in the house instead of burning the money on rent.

Don't think there's much chance of Mom and Dad paying my bills. haha. And yes time DOES go by quickly when you are enjoying yourself, find some place that is comfortable and can enjoy/share it with those of a like mind. And Yeah, paying rent and not being able to realize anything from it is the pits. We'll have our house paid off in July of 2014! Still, even 20 years is really good.

Our house is 25 x 50. Comes out to 1250 SQ FT. Not all that large, but big enough for Patty and I. 2 Bedrooms. When I bought it Patty and I weren't together. That didn't happen until LATE 1996. House payments are $350.00 a month. AND the guy I bought it from had his wife MAKE him replace the pink bathroom fixtures with white ones. That also included a new stove/oven, hotwater heater as well. Oh and Brand new wall to wall carpet on all the floors, which my wife has made me take up over the last three years. That's ok though, it's a lot healthier now w/out the carpet.

I prefer smaller places without a bunch of wasted space. Less to heat, less to cool, less to clean and less room for unneeded junk to gather!

A basic house in Whitehorse is about $400,000 now. Needless to say We are passing on that!

Yeah it amazes me how much houses cost in other parts of the country. I know we gripe, moan and complain about the U.S. but it really has some of the lowest prices for a lot of things.
