I wasn't complaining, I love doing it, especially in a t-shirt and shorts, no gloves... it does look like we're in trouble through the next few days though, 100% chance of heavy snow tomorrow.

I am going to agree with you with the frustration about people who don't want to try getting essentially rewarded for sitting on their butts all day. However, I don't think that that will change that much, there will still be people sitting on their keisters while others spoon feed them the way our society is set up. I've thought about this many a night. There are too many problems with our social system that can't be fixed through political policies or anything short of a complete re-structuring of our system

Doctors? WHERE... I'm out, I've gotten sick twice in two years, first was on a camping trip, some guy had strep, but he went to the doctor and the short test was negative so he came on the trip, on the drive out, he gets a call, long test is positive, me and 5 other guys got sick. This March, there was a bug going around which was a 24 hour open on both ends sorta deal, my buddy had already caught it, but he was over it, the ice had started to clear a little on the pond, so we decide we're going to take a canoe out and break up the ice. he goes out in full winter gear, I say, if we flip, I don't want my boots or coat or anything weighing me down, and go out in my swimsuit, lo and behold, that night I start feeling bad, but even then I only had it for 12 hours instead of the norm of 24. those were the only two times I've been sick in two years. Even wearing a T-shirt and shorts until they forced me to wear long pants...

Our Chief deputy bought himself his own shotgun. He got a Stoger 12ga with a pistol grip butt stock, synthetic and forend as well with twin action bars. I think he said he paid $350.00 for it. It really handles nice. Now If he could only get the short (legal) barrel with screw in chokes, Man THAT would be the combo! That is a nice shotgun. I had one and hunted with the longer brl version too. The only reason I don't have now is the lack of extras, no screw in chokes for the 18.5" brl, and I went to a Remington 1100 for hunting and home.

I have had the moments of thinking things through some lately...............and I did not really like it.
I had an opportunity to go hunting with a fellow teacher this weekend but the tournament yesterday and practice today killed that. Sure would have been nice but then again the weather is turning witches tit cold right now. So I guess being warm is a good thing too.

I was reading through the posts about shotty's. The one thing that I remember shooting and not liking was a 12 ga with a pg. That thing was painful. I am not sure why, maybe because of too many boxer fractures in the pg hand, but I have not went down that road again.

If I did try a pg shotty again it would be with a Knoxx since I hear good things about their pg. I do know they make a fine compstock that helps with recoil in the heavier stuff.

There are some good cowboy action smiths that work on the sxs shottys out there. My dad had a Norinco mule ear and it was pretty cool. Then I had a long brl mule ear that was made in Brazil and imported by Stoeger--this shotty was from several decades ago. That old Stoeger sxs was a pretty neat looking shotty but the long brls were not my thing. Right now CZ has a nice line of sxs shottys out there and I have handled a 20 ga. with the short brls--they have interchangeable chokes. Lets say I want one in 12ga. Also, Stevens is supposed to have a sxs but I have yet to see one besides the catalogue.

well, I've got a new motto: frostbite each day keeps the doctors away... Also, carrying 100 lbs. of road salt that keeps slipping almost 1/8 of a mile isn't fun, especially with shoulder issues
